Company, Position & Specification:

Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
 
Statutory inspections of the surface excavations and the part of the mine near the excavation where activities, including mining activities, are to be or are being carried out;
Proactively identify and reduce unacceptable levels of risk;
Active involvement in the site safety audits, inspections and investigations including assisting employees to develop appropriate corrective and preventative measures where appropriate; and
Participate in developing and reviewing the site safety and health management system.


Successful applicants will have the ability to work autonomously with an energetic and proactive work approach as well as extensive experience working within open cut mining operations. You will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be comfortable working as part of a highly focused team operating within a climate of continuous improvement.
 
The following certifications are required for this role:
 
A current Open Cut Examiners ticket;
G2 and S1, S2, S3; and
A current First Aid certificate.
 
Qualifications and experience operating heavy mining equipment will be highly regarded.
