This is your opportunity to take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance of the IT platforms of a global financial services organisation. Working at both a hands on level and at a strategic level, you will directly support the infrastructure manager across all levels of projects and BAU initiatives, leading support engineers in implementing new IT assets.

The role:

• Foundation Infrastructure and access services.
• Supervise and offer guidance on platform upgrades
• Support of LAN & WAN, SAN Access Services.
• Manage back-up services
• Provide expertise and skills in the area of virtualisation for desktops/servers
• Provide TCP/IP and LAN/WAN troubleshooting capabilities and techniques.

The ideal candidate:

• Extensive experience in Systems Administrator/Engineering roles
• Experience with Enterprise SAN/NAS storage (NetApp preferred)
• Extensive experience in a Linux environment (RHEL)
• Strong commercial experience with virtualisation technologies
• Desktop and Server virtualisation experience (VMware, Citrix)
• Exposure to SNMP tools and Java related application monitoring tools
• Hardware design & implementation experience.
