For many years now, this Australian owned designer and manufacturer of tankers for the transport and rail industry has been a genuine leader in its industry. Due to their continuous growth, a need has arisen for a qualified Engineer to join their highly successful team based in Melbourne’s Northern Suburbs. In this highly pivotal, dynamic and fast paced role you will be responsible for: - Preparing unit specifications in line with their customer’s sales orders
- Developing component, sub assembly and unit drawings
- Liaising with customers to ensure product specifications are in line with intended use
- Liaising with suppliers as necessary
- Achieving scheduled completion dates
As the ideal candidate you will possess the following key attributes: - Experience gained from a similar industry involved with the designing and manufacturing of heavy transport equipment i.e. Trucks or Tanks
- Structural Steel experience
- 3D design experience, ideally Solidworks
- A proven track record in producing cost effective, innovative designs within manufacturing capabilities
- The ability to communicate effectively with customers and shop floor employees
- The ability to meet tight schedules
- A relevant tertiary qualification
